Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

OK, I know I have blogged about this before, but can you really ever get enough of this show? I cry everytime. Last night's episode was about a family whose house blew up, because of a propane leak, while they were on vacation and they came home to a big hole in the ground and nothing else. Mike actually sat and watched some with me too. As we were watching, we began talking about if we lost everything to a fire or hurricane or any other horrible event. I felt truly blessed by the end of the conversation because all that we could come up with that we would miss was pictures of our kids as babies and our family over the years. Of course this is the perfect situation if all of our family was with us and noone was hurt. We are blessed to have home insurance so we feel like we could always have another home. We are blessed to have family that we could always run to and stay with in this type of situation and friends that would give us the greatest amount of support. It just felt so good to realize there isn't really anything we couldn't live without because God is good and we have a great support team. I know it wouldn't be an easy task and I feel terrible for all of these people who have had to go through the hurricane and other destruction. But, the saddest thing I saw in all of that was people really having nowhere to go, no family, friends, or church home to take them in. I think that is worse than losing a home.

Man, I missed it, but it sounds like it was a good one! We take so many things for granted...things like this show remind me of how blessed I truly am.
