HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY KOLE!

I cannot believe my sweet boy is 2 today! Kole's 2nd year has flown by so quickly. He has become such a sweet, cuddly momma's boy and he is such a joy to us. His first year and a half was filled with sleepless nights and lots of ear infections but since Kole got tubes he is such a good sleeper and happy boy. We are so blessed!

Since I recalled Kyler's birth, I guess I should tell Kole's birth story too. . . .

Man, it seems like just yesterday! I remember the day we found out I was having a boy. Seeing Mike's face was one of the greatest days of my life. He almost fell off the table because we thought we were having a girl. He was so proud and excited and is still so excited to have a boy!

I started out as a high risk pregnancy with Kole since I had had some complications with Kyler so my OB gave me A and E vitamins which has been shown to help toxemia. It really seemed to work well until about 33 weeks. The day of my baby shower my heart started beating really fast and I felt really shaky. They checked me at the ER and my blood pressure was fine, but by that next Tuesday at my OB's office my blood pressure was really high so she sent me to be monitored at the hospital. I stayed a couple of hours and they sent me home. My OB was trying to hold me off a couple of more weeks at least. By Friday my blood pressure was still high so they did an amniocentesis to see how developed Kole's lungs were. They were not developed so they gave me steroids and told me I would deliver on Tuesday September 21. My due date was October 31 so I was a little freaked out, but the Drs were encouraged by getting me steroids. At 10:05 on Tuesday, September 21, I had Kole by C-Section. He was 5 lbs and did great! He was on an apnea monitor and a light for jaundice when we got home but other than that, did great for being so early.
